i completely agree with you. i dont understand why some road riders will buy a top of the line frame and then outfit it with cheap wheels and parts. frames dont require adjustments, they dont have moving parts, and tolerances can be looser. you wont notice if a top tube is 2mm out, you will notice if your hub bearings are .5mm out.
Your cog is slipping.

I would rock the chainring if I was a chick. My lady thinks they're "cute".
There's nothing wrong with putting nice parts on cheap frames. When you outgrow the frame, just swap the parts over. You will probably outgrow your frame or want to upgrade before any quality components, such as a Thomson seat post, would fail on you. It takes years of constant cycling/loads to make aluminum fail.

I've seen this done with track bikes too. People buying concepts, vigorellis, etc (the usual), and building them up with cheap / hand-me-down / bin parts either because they blew all their cash on the frame, or because they don't know any better / don't care about the parts as long as they're getting pictures taken while doing sick skidz on their sweet "italian-crafted" fixies.
I find that more shameful than a modestly priced frame with decent parts.
Anyways the topic's been beaten to death. Frankly DGAF. Just sayin'.
Let's see more pics.
Don't really have a bike.

Project complete
I have a 1/2 link on the way to try to reduce the signature of the tensioner, or eliminate it completely.

Cool bike. Have you tried one of those magic ratio calculators? Some people are anti-magic ratio, but it might be worth a shot.

Do you have a link to the photo that you used to win the frame?

my dealextreme lights
Its like I have altezza taillights on my bicycle!
I really like the looks of the bike with not much on it though
but the lights are a much welcomed addition to my riding, especially where I live no street lights.

my first posting on this nev-r-dying thread!
i had purchased this frame on CL and hadn't planned on setting it up until i had collected some better parts BUT! my regular commuter got stolen so i set this hipster stereotype up with leftover parts. funny story, the LEADER logo, which is a bunch of grey dots, a friend of mine thought it would be fun to fill those grey dots in with sharpie. while trying to remove it we made it worse and it turned purple. thus is why the picture is not of the driveside. if it was, you'd see that is has a sugino messenger crankset, the only part worth a damn on this bike.
please, allow the nerdy bike nit picking commence!

Your cog is slipping.
Dude, don't you know how bad it is to have a bike set up in a way that's comfortable/functional for you? How 'correct' and aesthetically pleasing it is to others should always come first.
