Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I love this bike so much, the handling is ridiculously awesome somehow. Thinking black bartape would really do this bike some good.

I think the orange tape looks good with it, especially when it's dirty. Iuunno, just my opinions.

That's the good thing about 5 dollar bar tape, I can always change without worry.

Nice looking bike. Brown and matte black is a nice combo.

I'm curious as to why you made a conversion from the bottom up? Usually conversions are made the other way around. Would you care to tell us why?

Try leveling out your saddle. If it's not comfortable slide it back and lower it a bit.

Just picked it up! 2011 T1.

Got a pretty nice deal on it so I made my decision and picked it up today. Nice and light, really responsive and stable. Only took it out for about a half mile just to test it out real quick so the above statements are just from that really short ride. I look forward to nicer roads so i can try this beast out in full force! I ordered some bullhorns for it too! This bike will be a fun road bike / a bike to check out track racing. Will not be used for commuting, i'll keep my old converted Schwinn for that.

Anywho, here is a quick kitchen pic of the T1. I plan to do some sticker removal (like the warning stickers / exc.), a little clean up, and some small adjustments with the seat / handlebar.

I'll post some nicer photos in the next couple days, but for now, im pretty excited about it!

.Chris
