fat top tube protectors look pretty dork, i mean when you have a steel frame with a 4-5 inche diameter then put a pad thats three times as large on it...you eliminate the style points on that bike imho.

reload pads are slicker, utw has low profile, i guess putting a fat loose pad on must be something i dont get

about 5' of thin (~2-3mm) climbing accessory cord, lashed to the top tube. Cost is around $2.
