mashsf riding with lance
i'm bored at home with an almost-healed sprained wrist when i decided to start browsing sites for design inspiration.
i ended up at mashsf.com and saw the lance video.
didn't realize it until about 3:00. pretty cool stuff... watching him drop everyone at the end was insane.
i wonder if he's at home with his injury watching videos of me...

I met/saw garrett from the MASH SF crew. His bike is insane, and if you look closely, they do use all the free junk they get from companies like Phil wood. His Ciocc, was nuts.
(I didn't even realize it was him til like a day later)

i kinda think it's hot that so many of them ride 1" threaded, especially in this day and age where everyone and their mom thinks they're putting out more wattage than mark cavendish and simply HAVE to ride 1 1/8.

granted, lance isn't known as an elite sprinter but he is known for his ability to turn big gears fast. i would be surprised if (on a road bike) lance couldn't hit 45 for at least a few seconds. watching him make some of his faster mountain attacks lets us know he can put the power out to genuinely sprint, and his time trials let us know he can turn big inches at high rpms.
anyone know what garret was running?

i saw that. pretty impressive stuff... i was talking about it with my girlfriend, though, and we both decided that 1) lance's bike was too small for good sprinting and (more importantly) 2) garret was probably running more gear inches.

Yeah lance isn't a sprinter but he was months away from being a competitive protour endurance rider. I don't know how fast this garett kid is but I doubt a small bike or gear(within reason) would let him really outsprint lance. Maybe some sf people can shed more light on it. How fast is he? 12.0?
