Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Just relatively haha. If I didn't bike and heard someone spent 65 dollars on pedals I'd **** on them.

This happens pretty much every time I talk to non-bicyclists about bike parts.

how many spokes? revolution spokes and a shallow section rim may not be the best combination for a rear wheel. revolutions are often reserved for front wheels and NDS only.

The FG/SS crowd has it easy. $500 wheelsets are what many roadies call their "everyday" wheels: my stepfather just bought a second-hand Cannondale Slice which was advertised as "comes with training wheels" - the very same amazing Ultegra WH6700 wheelset that I worked my ass off to afford. And we just ordered a (power-metering) crankset for a touch over a thousand euros.

Speaking of which here are new "everyday" wheels; freshly laced, tensioned, trued by me! That's my paddywagon commuter in the back if you guys are wondering.

You guys won't imagine the lengths I had to go to to get my hands on a truing stand in such short notice.

I got the revolutions because they are super light. I am shooting for a 14lb bike. I know it's an arbitrary goal and have been told by the local fixie knowbodies that there will be almost no difference between a 14ib bike versus a 15 or 16lb bike but. . . . i'm still doing it.

What's the issue with using revolutions on a rear wheel?

oh, and they are 32h
