sorry to bring this old thread back. but i was having a conversation and a friend was asking if he can paint a machined rim (rides brakeless). i had no reply cause i was thinking you can paint it but that does not mean it would be recommended you know? so i came here.

so would painting a machined deep v effect the rim?
how about getting it powdercoated?

I think it would be fine if you powdercoated it but it would probably be best to strip the paint first.
