Need some Opinions...
Well, I posted a while back about whether I should look to build up a bike/convert or just buy new... I was all set on buying a new bike (probably a Kilo TT), but, over Easter, while at my grandparents, I was rummaging through their barn and found an old ten speed.
It is an old Britanny Free Spirit... I think its an old Sears bike.
Anyways... Here is the question... Should I just leave this bike as-is and ask for a Kilo TT as my birthday gift, or should I get a new rear wheel and convert this one to a fixed?
I suppose I could do both... But I'm kind of feeling guilty tearing into this mint bike that has been sitting for over 30 years...

You gotta convert at least one bike in your life if you haven't yet. No doubt you'll wind up getting a new one also, but the experience of trying to convert/build one is valuable. Let the "guilt" you'll feel stripping down the old Free Spirit drive you to do a good job of it. And definitely post pics of the before/after.

I think I will do this... The Free Spirit would be a great rainy-day/laid-back-cruise bike (I think i will get a cup holder for it! haha)
And I will just beg for a Kilto TT... Though it won't ship until after my birthday

Thanks for the responses.
