Dolan PreCursa/Kadet

So I am looking at investing in a new frame to build up for my commuter and fun bike. I am really into the Dolan PreCursa/Kadet. I ride about 6 miles to work each way on some halfway decent (occasional potholes, bridge joints, etc.) roads and was wondering if anyone had any experience or things to say about this frame. The things about this frame I dig are: weight, geometry, price (US 499 with carbon track fork) and styling, as well as the ability to take off the decals. Dislikes: No drilled brake hole in the front, worries about carbon and aluminum in the city. I really appriciate any advice or experiences, as well as reccommendations for similar frames that might fight the bill. Thanks!

well ill be the first to say that I don't dig the looks. For some reason the concept and TK3 are the only FG bikes I like w/ a fat tube like that. Anyways, as far as riding alum/CF in the city, you'll be fine. I rode an alum/CF road bike around the city for a long time before I got my steel FG, and I never experienced any discomfort. Now that I have ridden steel, I can tell a SLIGHT difference, but only b/c I'm looking for it.

If you're worried about cracks/dents, don't. Unless you do crazy stuff, you'll be fine. But check out the TK3 if you want, it is heavily decaled, though. Leaders are pretty similar, but I think they are really ugly. hmmm..yeah...that's all I got.

I've had my kadet for 6 months now. I like it, it is pretty stiff compared to my road bike(bianchi giro). I dont mind the stiffness tho. I love how it looks, its matt black so it doesnt really stand out.

500 for the frame seems like its too much, i got mine for 400 from a lbs. Also when i ordered it i had an option for a road fork thats drilled for a brake, which i got.

If u want to know anything else just ask.
