Bianchi has used a handful of separate colors over the years. I'm working on gathering the parts I need for my FG build.

While I'm at it, anybody know of alternatives to auto paint shops for celeste spray paint?

the ones I got were just slightly more blue than the Bianchi decals on my bike. The decals were a tad more green, whereas the wheels were a little on the blue side, if that makes sense. Go into the "Pctures of your SS/FG" thread at the top of the page and you will see my bike a page or two back. Overall,, they match very well and I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who has ever noticed...My bike is from the late '80s, btw.

Montana spraypaint is so expensive. Also, it's kind of chalky and powdery, geared toward art students to use for "graffiti". I wouldn't use it to paint a bike.

So, if I give " Pantone 333 (C 38 / M 0 / Y 27 / K 0)" to a paint shop, they ought to be able to mix it up and throw it in a spray can for me? Guess I'm going to have to do some calling around to find somewhere that mixes custom spraypaint.

sort of— pantone/PMS is a method of specifying a colour throughout the design and printing process, but generally it's limited to inks and dyes for offset printing, textiles, and some raw materials (like vinyl). some paint shops are able to use pantone, or may be able to optically match a PMS 333 swatch, but their internal matching system might not directly translate to pantone, which could result in non-matching paint. especially if there are flakes/pearls or a different paint system involved.

So, any easy options for me to get one can of the stuff mixed? Take one of the wheels to an auto paint place?
