Fuji Feather 2009
I don't know if they have these in other countries but I saw the new Fuji Feather today in a local bike store here in NakaMeguro (Tokyo). They look quite nice and have a lugged crown fork now.
They seem to be aiming more for the FG crowd, with track drops and deep rims (although they are Weinmans), I sat on a 54 and it felt quite nice. They cost about ¥70,000, I am looking for a cheap FG bike so might pick one up next month. http://www.fujibikes.jp/street2/img/feather_pink_ll.jpg http://www.fujibikes.jp/street2/img/...r_green_ll.jpg http://www.fujibikes.jp/street2/img/...r_white_ll.jpg http://blog.8to8.in/images/fujifeather01blue.JPG Has a cool new Fuji Head Badge http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Iy55XxmMNH...jifeather2.jpg Link To the Fuji Japan site.http://www.fujibikes.jp/street2/feather.html |
Those look great. Love the light blue!
Looks sharp. IIRC these aren't going to be brought to North America
ish looks ill. i know my next scheme haha
eh... >700USD is a lot for that imo
True, but there is little choice for a cheap complete bike here. We don't have bikes direct!
Didn't the Feather previously have a kickass headbadge with a feather across the Fuji logo? You'd think they would continue to use that awesome badge.

Sup with those brakes attached to nothing?

...the same reason why there are no pedals.
It seems to be a weird concept to set it up in a shop, but have no brake levers or cables, especially when the company (I'm assuming) photos show them brakeless. |
Just saw this...apparently the feather model track bike has been around for a long time, but only recently offered here in the U.S. I picked up a '76 model last spring, it was made in Tokyo for sale in Japan only back then. I saw the 2010 model at my lbs, it is similar to mine but has some obvious differences - modern parts of course, tigged main frame (mine is lugged), sloping fork crown (mine is flat), more gradual fork curve (mine curves near the tips). Mine has the old feather head badge also -

they should have definitely made it fully lugged :(
Saw the Feather 2 weeks ago at an LBS here in Philly. It was around $450. Looked ok, nothing spectacular.
450 seems fair, it looks nice.
Agreed, but I won't be trading my old one in for a new one!
i stayed in Naka Meguro for about a month last year. it's really nice there. also, sweet bike.
Would love to know what shop its in,
I live in Nakameguro and lost my Fuji Track lat year. |
what other OTPs have a 1" threaded headset & fork though? besides the angus. i think the feather looks classier tbh... the red and yellow ones are beaut.
http://www.fujibikes.com/LifeStyle/C...s/Feather.aspx [edit] oh wait, that's pink. |
I like the older one better.
Our LBS has a couple of new Feathers...they are very pretty bikes IMO but nothing special, and for the $700 that they're asking I would probably look elsewhere. Seems like they cater towards the "fixie" crowd and at least in that regard, they're pretty classy.
