Anodized effect
I found this stuff at an Autozone and figured I'd give it a try.
It seems that everything my girlfriend wants doesn't come in anodized colors.
Here's the pics from an old set of drops...
I took pictures in a few different lights because they were coming out wierd, but it really does look good in person.

Neat, but what I want to know how to strip it off after I buy all these sprayed parts that'll be up for sale sometime in the future.
And hands in the air who wants to be the first one to "customise" their Pista.

I could test for road durability since I'm about to finish stripping an aluminum frame--I could try it under the chainstays and bottom bracket or something. Would it a bad idea to ride around for a week with mostly bare aluminum?
If it seems alright I would definitely want to see what a Smoke frame looks like with my black everything-else.

ANODIZED COLOR
Want to dress up chrome and metal surfaces? METALCAST™ Anodized Color is the answer. Turn ordinary chrome pieces into a bright, transparent-colored metallic finish in an easy, one-step process. METALCAST™ is a durable enamel finish that is oil, gas and heat resistant to 500º F intermittently. Use it on both interior and exterior accessories - even high-heat applications under the hood! Available in seven popular anodized colors.
To achieve the anodized metal look on non-metal or painted surfaces, first prime with METALCAST™ Ground Coat, then follow up with a METALCAST™ Color.

Anyway, I'm less concerned about how my bike would be if I didn't own it than how sweet it is while I do.

I didn't clear coat it, it was just a test, we're going to paint some risers for her actual bike.
About 30min after first coat of paint I tried scratching it with my thumbnail and it was pretty strong.
And that was only first coat and 30min.
Its meant for engine parts and exterior car parts so it's pretty durable on its own.

Every other purple riser bar seems out of stock or with a huge rise.
It was a TEST on a drop I had laying around.

No, I didn't use their ground coat. Just one coat of the paint.
To stop the comments before too many roll in like "Why didn't you buy Nittos, Ano'd this or that", or links to websites with anodozed things:
I tested it on the closest, sizeable, polished thing in my parts boxes.
I thought it would be of interest to the forums due to the possibilities.
Y'know, the random kid asking "where can I find purple chainring bolts, etc" can use this.
And maybe someone will spray an entire Pista or something, haha.

It's tough stuff so far. Under my BB area I used the base and two coats of Smoke/Gray and it's still fully intact after maybe 40 miles and two car rides.
I think a polished surface would work best--the base doesn't provide a very smooth shine here (but it could be too thick).
