Best Sandals for Toe Clips

It's officially summer, and my feet are getting tired of being cooped up inside my shoes.

I'm in a happy place with shoes for toe clips, but anyone have suggestions for sandals?

I don't have a stinky feet problem, so I guess not everyone can do the no socks thing.

Throw your freewheel and both brakes on and call it a day.

I love this thread.

Carry a pair of sandals in your bag. Riding in them looks foolish.

i had a teacher in highschool that was riding with sandals on and managed to get her toe caught in between the chain and chainring. somehow she didn't lose the toe. i bet it hurt like..um...something that hurts a lot tho.

That's simply wonderful.

In all seriousness, I ride fixed all the time with just platform pedals and comfy flip flops. I just bought a pair of the Keen SPD sandals and ATACs at the REI sale last night, but have not installed them yet.

Shimano. As far as I'm concerned, it's not a sandal nor does it even feel like a sandal if it has a closed to.

And anybody who injures a foot just because of wearing a cycling sandal has got to be a total idiot.

You mean the old Shimano (SD60) sandals like I have...the newer ones (SD65) feel more like shoes.
Gonna have to make these babies last a long time, since it seems true open-toed cycling sandals have gone out of style.

+1 on the idiots.
