That's easy, it's because brakeless bmx kids are running little tiny gears and can't really get going fast enough to do much damage. Your average fixie kid is running 85" to 100", just waiting to go plowing into something..

Isn't saying you shouldn't use a track bike for tricks the same as saying you shouldn't use track bikes on the road? Either application is beyond the original intended usage of lapping the Velodrome.

That's why we're all in the SS&FG forum rather than the Track forum...

What I don't understand is how people can actually care about this debate. Tricks on fixed gear bikes look stupid to me, but what difference does that make to anyone else? To car drivers anyone on a bike looks stupid, does that bother any of us?

Why should anyone give a **** what anyone else thinks about how they ride their bike? I have friends who get together on tuesdays and practice tricks on their fixed gear bikes. What do I give a **** what they do, it's their bike.

It's skateboard tricks applied to bicycles. Rather boring to me, but it's not hurting anyone ... unless they fall off that is. My paternal grandfather was a fixed-gear circus trick cyclist before there were "fixies."

The pirated soundtrack is cool. That's a lot of credits for such a short film though, huh?

This kind of crap makes me want to throw my fixed gear away. Why not just go ride your bmx bikes?

Why do you even care?

I don't think the banned guy is going to respond, dude.

Exactly this, yes.

Some people like riding around at a decent clip, they like doing tricks, and they want to be able to do it on one bike. No, it's not as fast as a road bike. No, it's not as good at tricks as a BMX bike. But it is pretty fast, and pretty good at tricks.

You can prepare just about anything with a chef's knife, a paring knife and a bread knife. You don't need a different tool for EVERY job.

I just find it odd that the length of the video is like 3 minutes with half of it being credits for like 749 people.
