Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? new parts

so im looking into getting this fork

https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...894_-1___14500
seems like a super good deal. not sure what size steerer length to get?
im on a 53cm pake.

also, this wheel set...

i saw someone post this link on the forum and this also looks like a ****ing steal
https://www.bicyclewheelwarehouse.com...&productId=195

i'm currently running vuelta xrp's with xrp hubs and a soma rush fork (i paid $120 for, ****!) so this would obviously be a pretty good upgrade yeah?

and on a light note, the fact that the word XTREME is on my hubs really bothers me for some reason..

good idea or bad idea?

thanks,
rob the tarck jackass

1. Remove current fork.
2. Measure current fork steerer length.
3. ???
4. Profit.

I think the Soma Rush fork has 38mm of rake (you might wanna double-check that). If that's the case, the bike might lose a bit of stability with the new fork with 43mm of rake. If you like the way the bike handles now, you should consider looking for a fork with equal rake.

You know what, you're right. I love how it handles, just trying to ditch some weight.
Good looking out
