Velocity Deep V's Are Made of...

show me some pictars. also does anyone know what velocity deep v's are made of?

Thetank 05-27-09 09:47 AM

Seriously hit up fixedgeargallery.com and check it out, don't start a thread asking for people to give you info you can search for on your own. There is a thread up at the top with everyone's bike posted on there for pete's sake!

Deep v's are rare on fixed gears. Hence his question. Help the man out

dayvan cowboy 05-27-09 09:57 AM

deep v's are made of pbr and ironic t shirts.

that was sadly the most creative thing i could think of.

CliftonGK1 05-27-09 10:00 AM

Deep V's are made of awesome.

I ride on everything from vintage steel Dunlop wheels to Vueltas to Sun Rhyno Lites.

My new wheelset for my road bike is going to use Mavic Open Pros and if I can find them for a decent price want to lace them to some Suntour Superbe track hubs.

velocity's website left out what they were made of or at least i had yet to find the info hahahah does anyone know if they are aluminum?

muckymucky 05-27-09 10:59 AM

google search says: Hollow core aluminum

oldfolksmashers 05-27-09 11:47 AM

That's one of those things you should just stop and think about for two seconds before asking

Too light to be made of steel, too heavy to be magnesium, too metallic to be carbon fiber.....

Must be made of cheese! I KNEW IT!

EDIT: Kidding, clearly they are made of scandium.

The pink ones are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. The blue ones are made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails.

wearyourtruth 05-27-09 01:07 PM

any modern rim that is metal (as opposed to carbon) is going to be aluminum, with the exception of the worst wal-mart has to offer

LionsHeart 05-27-09 01:08 PM

aluminum Thanks muckymucky i need to try googling that question i suppose hahah. BUT deep v's are made of slugs and snails and panties and bows

fordfasterr 05-27-09 01:39 PM

tubular deep v's and high flange dura ace hubs are made of _ _ _ _. mystery metal !

carleton 05-27-09 09:16 PM

Whatever it is it's not balanced.

Video of my un balanced rim: http://www.flickr.com/photos/carleton_hall/3571376482/

On a similar note. The Suntour Superbe hubs are so smooth, so sensitive that only a couple of grams can send it swinging.

minotaur horns.......sha-derrr

Technically, you cannot comment on the rim's distribution of mass unless you are only dealing with that mass. You also have spokes, nipples, hopefully spoke prep on the spoke threads, a hub, a tire, and a tube. You are demonstrating bad science.

DUH! The gold ones are mad of real gold simply because it never specifies otherwise...

I'm not a scientist. I just know at 35 MPH that sumb*tch moves around and it's not fun.

Mr. Wizard didn't teach me how to use any fancy scienty tools. We just learned with what we had laying around.

Check this: I left 3 of the magnets on while at the track today. You know what? No wobble. :D

They're made of unobtanium, although this one appears to have the measles:

Neat. You still cannot comment on the distribution of the mass of the rim.

As an arm-chair scientist: Yes the h*ll I can. And I did. And you read it. And you liked it. So much you want me to talk more about it.

Besides that...I have Occam's razor on my side.
