Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Couriers in Boston?

I'm relatively new to the courier business, and i was wondering, how many people on the forums courier in boston? the summer here is kinda dead, since most of the college students went home, so i was looking for new places to hang out, and why not, with fellow courier types in the city?

Did the courier company you worked for not take out the taxes for you?

What happened with the IRS?

I'm not sure if usa couriers does, the only company I know of that actually takes out taxes is city express and they also give you health insurance (apparently).

Now for my introduction!!! i'm Henry this is my first post on here but i've been looking arround for quite a while. I've been riding an ss Libertas for like 3 years and i'm about to make the jump to fixed. I am knowledgable as i have done some research on the subject but I still have many questions I want to ask in the near future. Thanks y'all

Most messenger jobs are worked as an independent contractor and well I was just to busy buying bike parts , food, rent, and good ol' booze to ever really save anything for the good ol' tax man. I am now paying them 111.00 a month. It's just swell. Oh and I worked for Marathon and Count Down while they were around. Count Down swindled me out of alot of money.
