have her check the local bike shops (I know in Philly we have a few places that buy used bikes, maybe there are some in your area and the person will try and make a quick buck by selling it) also, check out Craigslist.com and see if he/she is trying to sell it there.
Bike theives make me sick.
if I see anyone in philly with a hello kitty seat, I will punch them in the face.... not because it may be your girlfriends bike, but just on principle.
Goodluck!

Grrr. You'd think that bike thefts would have slowed since the bus strike ended. But they've been up since it started, and apparently haven't slowed down.
It wouldn't hurt to check with the police, especially if it was registered. If you're lucky, somebody could've just taken it for a joy ride & ditched it.

Speaking of locks, anyone know why if there is a reason the masterlock "Cuff" style locks are so much cheaper now days? At one LBS (FreeWheel) they are all about 50% off, is there something I don't know??
