Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I rock 28 hole orange anodized open pros with black spokes and ultegra hubs. I have never seen another set like them before.

Not the greatest pics, but DT Swiss 1.2 rims, Sapim CXray spokes (20 per wheel), Phil Woods hubs. Waiting, for a 120 to 110 conversion kit for the rear.

My old rear wheel was laced 3x-crow's foot. 36 hole veep to Phil Wood with revolution spokes. I really liked it, but the radial spokes were laced wrong. They were behind the crossed spokes, and had too much lateral tension from it and after I popped a few of them I rebuilt as 4x.

Ya, not so much. "Light as ****" is well under 1500g, not ~2000g.

Anyway, here's my Mavic rear after yesterday's blowout:
