Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Not to complain (too much)
Is it just me or have I seen an increase in horrible bike listings? Just today I saw an old junk Peugeot for $165 (I bought one last year for $2). The bike doesn't even take a normal bottom bracket!

I was stoked to see the fixed gear frenzy get even more heated this spring, thinking that there will be lots of nice stuff for sale cheap (on CL) next year. Now I am wondering if that is going to happen...
Or how long it will take for literally 1/2 the population of NYC (4 Million people?) to get a fixed, then realize they are all wearing the same gown at the ball and look for something else to identify with...
I do know that right now, you can make a killing flipping bikes on CL here in NYC. I have considered trying it myself... Bad karma though. Hehe.

I hope that everyone keeps riding though! Maybe they could learn to ride more skillfully and/or courteously. Either is fine with me, but being neither skillful or courteous = bad cycling.

i want to see a poll asking to move these posts to another forum as there are at least 3 on the first page and none of them are on topic.

let people hustle how they want. its:

1. None of your business.
2. Not like anyone is forcing you to buy anything.

Hey, I agree...
If a guy makes a poll on this forum it is:

1. None of your business.
2. Not like anyone is forcing you to click on anything.

From: My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

Bikes: to many to list
