Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

It doesn't suprise me the amount of people who pop in here for a post. Have you been to the roadie and mtb boards? The mtb board is saturated with grom-speak 'Wut have u hucked 2day" mindless rants, and the roadies are generally carbon obsessed Boomers with a bad case of idol worship.

On most BBS around the web, it's mostly the SS or Fixie boards where you can come in, be yourself, swear at a few of the regulars and at the end of the day we all clink our pints of Guinness together and toast this wonderful creation we call the bike.

We should complile a list of the most purile, rehashed topics from the other boards and have a bit of a chuckle.

Another cool thing about SS and Fixie boards, is that they're more lifestyle orientated. I'm pretty much a frustrated mtber living in the big city and I ride a hardtail, an FS bike, a singlespeed and a road bike - but as a 'lifestyle' chat, singlespeed and fixed is just more interesting.

There's only so much 'Should I buy Ksyriums?' or 'What hucking fork should I buy?' discussions a guy can take.

You reckon J-Lo and Affleck were ever going out, or was it all just a publicity stunt? *laugh*

That being the case, didn't we just have a major discussion on stash pockets and the use thereof ?

Debatable.

Either way, this thread is making me feel all warm and fuzzy and I'm not particularly fond of that.

But I like you guys/gals.
