Obviously if the OP wants to just milk this guy for everything he is worth and defraud the insurance company of as much money as possible, then those are the steps she should take. If she just wants to be adequately compensated, though, there's no reason to punish the guy more than making him pay for what needs to be replaced. |
You know where the sidewalk stops so a road can go through it well, I got hit on my skateboard on that part of the pavement, the car turned across to go up the road, threw me up on the hood and rolled off. They drove away. Be happy the person stayed. Couldn't get out of my bed for like 2 days my back was so f'd up.

man, i don't know enough girls on ss/fg. does the $150 cover all damage costs? the only way i'd accept that check is if it did.

Yeah...a few months ago I was clipped from behind hard enough to topple me over my bars and straight into the ground before I could even take my hands off the bars
I lost 3 days of memory and I have nerve damage in my left brow (may or may not come back eventually) as well as some sweet scarring from the stitches. The guy took off and was not found. I hope that ******* got what was coming for him. |
Just out of curiosity, what instersection were you at? I grew up around Vancouver... the whole east side of town is pretty ****ty for riding a bike if you're actually trying to go from point A to point B and not on some snooty suburban loop.
Glad your bike took most of the damage. |

yeah be glad this was all that happened. i got doored last year and had the dip**** wanna be thug driver try to pry my bike out of my hands until i "payed for his door". he also said "i should just shoot everyone on a bike that rides by my car". i had to get stuart leon to sue AIG because they were trying to get me to pay $2000 for his piece of **** acura.
and to OP hope your ok and get adequately compensated for your bike, time and health. |

On a side note i'm super sketched about this happening to me. what are the legalities and whose at fault?

131st and 4th plain
it's east of 117th a little. they just built a new 24hr fitness. it's pretty much down the street from heritage high school if you know where that is. i was going south of 131st to go home. luckily i was like 3 blocks from home http://i29.tinypic.com/2jfbmth.jpg http://i28.tinypic.com/30stzeu.jpg the map is old. all the fields are pretty much gone. |
Yeah, I know where that is... that's right about where I was thinking when I said that about east Vancouver being ****ty for riding a bike.
I just came down there on the Amtrak (Broadway PDX station) a couple months ago and rode to my friend's house by Mill Plain. After getting all tired riding from downtown and across the 205 bridge I had to ride through all that crap. It was freakin' scary. It seems like the only people on bikes around there are all either insane/cracked out looking or riding through loops in the side streets with their spandex suits on. |
yeah, riding in vancouver is pretty ****ty.
i dont even know how i'm going to get to school now. the mup sucks. |
Oh no, not the grip tape!
|
After you get all this insurance stuff out of the way, there is only one thing left to do of course ... MS Paint it!
BTW glad to hear it seems like you're okay, getting hit is scary especially when it's you're first time. |
hah, i meant bar tape. i dont know what i was thinking

well, i'm not afraid to get back on the bike once things are fixed. was my light not bright enough? it probably wasn't. i should invest in a new one or something. riding in vancouver is pretty scary, even though it's right across from portland. it's a whole other world. my legs are bruising right now, my lower back is hurting, my legs were tingling a little bit last night, i have a headache and my neck hurts a little bit. blah blah. complaining. would it be worthless to take pictures of me and my bike. the damage of the bike probably wont show in pictures. yeah, i'm glad the guy stopped and drove me home other wise i wouldn't have known what to do. i think if it was on a smaller street he probably wouldn't have stopped. what is the secret handshake, TheDL? My bike was trashed 2 months ago when some guy just rolled out right in front of me while I was zooming down a slight downhill. I got money for the bike, but the pain and the depression and **** are priceless. Cheer up, treat yourself to a milkshake, know you'll be better soon. If you feel sad you could IM me on iChat, I'm usually on. |
