I bought a boettchia frame for $42 incl shipping. Small amount of rust and needs paint. Where should I look for a fork. I would like steel. I thnk Surly makes one that will fit. Is there anyone else that does. Option#2 would be a Steelman.

There are lots of steel road forks listed on Ebay.......no one seems to want steel..... except us. The roadies are all converting to carbon. In the past I've picked up Cinelli, Colnago, Tange, and a bunch of no name steel forks real cheap......even with extra long steerer tubes. I cut them and get them re-threaded.

Check AEbike.com and grab a Surly or a Dimension.

Bikeworks in NYC has a Colnago knock-off straight blade chrome fork for $57. I love mine. Drilled for a brake too.

The Bikeworks fork is very nice. I got mine in the other day and installed on my Paramount track. Seems to have the same rake as the carbon road fork that I was using.

Sorry,I hit submit by accident. What I meant to say I would like a Cinelli or didn't Columbus used to make steel forks.

I am not in a rush to do this, but I don't find something I like in a month Cynikal fork may fit the bill.

Do you mean the tab that prevent your wheel from falling off? If so the yes they do. I plan on filling mine off.

It's the only sensible thing to do.

Not anymore. Took care of that bit of business prior to install. Step 1: Cut steerer tube to length. Step 2: File tabs.

there's a subactegory of forks in "roadbikes and parts" in the cycling category. ebay's search function can be sketchy most of the time...

can someone post a pic of a 'lawyer tab' showing exactly what it is yall are talking about? i cant picture what these are even after reading sheldon browns description...
