Crashing L.A.T.E.
Anyone that would like to crash the LATE ride with me tomorrow night is welcome. I'll be at Frankie Z's on Clark (across from the Baton, next to Topolobombo) whenever I get there, which should be around midnight. Load up on a couple glasses of Irish milk and head down to Buckingham around 1:15. If anyone knows the route please post.

I'll be there but at least at the beginning will be riding with some old timers. Maybe I can catch up with you later in the ride? I still don't know the path, but if I find anything out, I'll post.

Is it fairly easy to crash the LATE ride??? I don't feel like paying 35 bucks or whatever to ride...also are they strict on helmets? thanks!

easy to crash, however, the lakefront path will SUCK and be super crowded. no LSD this year.
and they turned down WCBMA's pit stop offer (for all those poor saps who ride with 20 psi and dont even notice)
screw friends of the park, at least CBF was really cool with bike the drive, and i KNOW what good stuff they do.
might meet up if im bored tho.

Here's info I got from metromix.com:
Ride 25 moonlit miles through downtown and North Side neighborhoods for the 16th annual "Long After Twilight Ends" recreational ride. Snacks and a post-ride breakfast at Buckingham Fountain provided.
Participants gather at midnight at Buckingham Fountain for live music, free Frappuccino samples, "best lit bike" and "best decorated helmet" contests, registration and packet pick-up.
Neighborhoods include: Greek Town, River North, Lincoln Park and more. The ride starts between 1:30-2:15 a.m. and goes northwest to Foster Avenue and Pulaski Road, then east to Foster Avenue Beach and south along the lakefront path back to the fountain. Registration is limited to 10,000 participants.
Jul. 11: midnight live music, registration and packet pick-up; 1:30 a.m. first wave of ride begins
So if you want to crash, there's the route! Have fun!
