Where the heck else can you pedal balls out, can't think, can't see straight, I wanna cry, this is hell, hard. And not have to have that nagging suspicion that a car may try to take your lane. Or you might have to stop. Or there might be a branch in the road, or gravel.

Nowhere else can I devote as much effort to RIDING as I can on the track.

Yeah, there's a lot of spandex, and skinsuits. I've also found nearly everyone at the track to be approachable, and helpful. Then again.... I've only been to one velodrome.

I live very close to the Manchester velodrome and ride as often as I can. Most people there are friendly and ready with advice for begginers and you often bump into olympic medalists on your way to the track :)
