wow, lots of carbon fear lol. I have a carbon steer tube on my reynolds ouzo pro on my road bike. my face is still on one piece. enough people ride with full carbon forks where I don't think it's an issue...

but i don't think super light weight is really an issue, so the steel steer tube is probably no big. but yeah carbon forks are ftw.

i dont doubt its strength or integrity normally. on my road bike i tend to baby it a bit more,where as when i ride fixed,i definitely put more stress on the bike. i also dont ride my road bike in downtown or through traffic though either.

Yeah i tend to baby the hell out of my caad9, but its got an aluminum steerer tube IIRC.
