#2 DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. You can't convert tubular rims to take clinchers.

But it seems people can't win for anything they do just cause they like it for whatever reason. People complain about people that have drops and ride them up top and then when they chop bars and make them short for their riding preference ... well they get insulted then too. People do different things for different reasons, sometimes for stupid reasons. But alas who cares, this has been talked about before and should we really bring it up again? Just banter between your friends who dislike it or something.

3/4 of this forum wouldn't exist if it operated like this.

I just put ape hangers on my road bike. I'm hoping it'll catch on.

the_don 09-01-09 04:07 AM

I think the whole Spinergy RevX trend is stupid too!

Those things are Death Traps!

Ha, of course this is true. But more or less I don't have a problem with people discussing it a bit, it's just the constant moaning about things already talked about. So I guess what I meant to say is use the search function...

Does not work. Period. It is theoretically possible to remove material from some clincher rims and use them for tubular tires, but even if you can pull it off, it's probably a pretty bad idea.

If people are telling you that they're converting tubular rims to run clinchers, they're straight up morons, lying, or both.

+1

the_don 09-01-09 05:58 AM

+infinity.

Look at clincher rims and then tubular rims.

Spot the difference.

Anyone who says the above is a liar. Maybe they were just playing on your ignorance or being Cunnts or something

Would be so fun to ride around with these and see what people think.

Thetank 09-01-09 11:25 AM

what you're supposed to do is mount your stem pointing towards the side and grab that to steer, now that's gangsta!

ianjk 09-01-09 11:53 AM

also think super narrow pedals and bb would fit too

Amongst the locals there is a clothing trend that I REALLY don't understand. I can only describe it as men wearing women's pants.

WTF is that all about?

I once heard, and I thought it was genius:
anything invented before you turned 18 was always there.
anything invented up until you're 40 is new and exciting.
anything invented after you're 40 is a threat to the world and must be destroyed.

I guess its kinda true.

Um, the vast majority of anyone who will whine and complain about narrow handlebars will be closer to 18 years old.

The 40 year olds will complain about your (weird) hair and (girl) pants.

Since the natural response by the fashion world to every stupid trend is to counter with an equally stupid trend...

After a few years of super baggy jeans the response was to go super-tight. Frankly, I never thought the skinny jean thing would really take off in the US. considering...
