Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

just thought I'd share this one...

Very excited to enter the world of fixed gears with this beauty I found on ebay. This bike is from a basic build kit which I'll be customizing as I go along. No velodrome nearby, so this will a round-town and commuter. It was a bit of an impulse buy...it just kind of spoke to me, so I caved.

yes. thanks. good old impulsive buying. anyone ever ride on Dedacciai Com 12.5. my other bike is OX Platinum, which I love and I'm not sure what, if any, difference there may be in terms of stiffness, ride feel, etc.

what are your views on riding a track bike on the street and not velodrome? I know some track bikes have more relaxed geometry...it appears that the frame I purchased has a shorter wheel base.

Bikes: 82 Bianchi ECO Pista, Pake, Kilo TT, some *** bmx i found underneath an old house

Plenty of people do it. As long as you can make comfortable for whatever you want to use it for, no problems.
