Photoshop Help, Need Some Frame Painting Ideas!
Hey,
A teammate and I are getting new frames (he's getting a road frame, me a track) and we want to paint them in our team colors.
Our team kits have white, red, yellow, and black on them. Basically we're thinking of a mostly white frame with red, yellow, and black stripes runing across it (think German flag). We've got the stripes on our hats and shoe covers, so it should look pretty slick.
Here's the frame i'm getting, and it looks to be a good shot for the photoshop process.
I'm hoping someone can do two versions (and add some of your own!), the first version will have German stripes running paralell to the angle of the downtube (straight lines running across the tube itself) and cross the top tube at an angle. The second design will have the stripes running across the top tube, seat tube, and chainstays.
Disregard the lettering
Thanks for your help!

u mean like this?
ver 1:
ver 2:
it's kinda hard to picture what u are trying to say by reading. Luckily I'm in between projects so I can whip this out fast for you. If u want, u can draw directly on the picture for what u want and I can make u a clean version. As long as you do it before my next project comes up

I think it looks better with the stripes running parallel to each other across all tubes, like this:

i agree that the stripes looks a lot better at an angle. But how does it connect down the middle?

not sure what you mean by "down the middle", but if you're referring to stripes on the seat tube then they do look a little off kilter. However, this is an optical illusion- hold a piece of paper up to your screen and you can see that the stripes on all 3 tubes are in line.

3 ideas
Forgive the crappy photoshopping, I'm at work and on a coffee break ;-)
Big, bold, top edge aligned with seat stay, feels like it's going 'forward'
Similar to nimbuscreal, closer to (and parallel with) downtube
Idea 2, but stripes not on chainstays (I see this a lot with other panel-esque ideas), looks a bit cleaner

Stripes across entire top tube, big enough to be equal heights, split right down the top tube, and cover the entire head tube - this is the only design that won't totally won't work across all frame sizes without some tweaking

Wow, you guys are great!!
All of these ideas are awesome!
The first theme I described is easy to draw, but kinda tough to describe. Think of the stripes going the same way as the aero shape of the downtube, then they'd continue on a straight line to cross the top tube, hopefully that helps. I'm not at my desktop so I don't have mspaint with me right now.
I'm totally open to more ideas if you guys have some! I really would like to keep the stripes going straight across whichever tube they cross (I like the unity)

OK last one
Top color tallest, leaves some white on the top tube, covers entire head tube, stripes get progressively thinner below
Splits top tube in half, white on top
Angles of lines come from the same 'vanishing point' described by the top tube and chainstay - they're slightly bigger in front if you notice

ugh couldn't help myself
Same as last version, but black scoops up to make entire head tube black
Your painter can thank me later

I'm looking for the stripes to start maybe a few inches below the headtube and crossing the top tube right about in the middle

haha, I don't mind, I'm just happy to have your help!
I like that one, but I'd rather keep the yellow where it is, and put the black and red right next to the yellow

At first I thought that looked like a coral snake. Then I remembered the rhyme and realized it looks like a king snake. Very cool, Me like!

I like this one the best, but make the strips way wider, but stay between the bottom bracket, seatpost clamp, and rear brake bridge. I think it would look pretty neat!
I'm going to be doing the painting, its more of a learning/teaching process for my teammate and I. We wanted to go with a pearl white, but due to not wanting to screw up the pearl part of the color we'll probably stick with a nice stark white. The red and yellow are a bit darker, closer to maroon and gold, just so we get the colors perfect with the kits. Here's a pic of the kits BTW
Thanks for all the help!
