im buying myself a used campy vento 2007,the clinchers c/ with 10 speed campy hubs,so im planning to change the rear hub to normal flip flop hub.Does this possible?and comparing these campys to velocity deep-vs,how good are these wheels?Thanks!

you cannot change a cassette hub into a flip flop hub. i am also 99% positive that you won't be able to swap out the hub in the rear for a different one because of the low spoke count (and it would be a waste of your time and money anyway). why do you want to buy a road wheelset for a fixed gear? just buy a fixed gear wheelset.

I especially agree with this - why pay good money for a wheelset that will only make you problems when you could just buy an excellent fixed-gear wheelset for the same price which you wouldn't have to mess around with?

A buddy of mine did something similar to this. You can get a custom drilled rear Phil Wood hub. As they mentioned earlier though it will be pricey.

except triplet lacing is there to reduce the tension differences between drive and non drive sides on 8/9/10sp wheels with a large amount of dishing.

Yes it's possible. You realize you'll need to completely rebuild the wheel with a flip-flop.

yeah, it would be almost totally impossible to lace up any flip flop hub with a rim that has triplet lacing. i don't even this a custom phil would be able to accomplish that

A friend of mine laced a 32h rim to a 32h road hub, keeping the drive side laced 3-cross and lacing the nondriveside half-spoked radial. The effect was similar to a G3 lacing. This was for a road wheel.

But yes, trying to calculate the spoke lengths for a rim with nonstandard drilling sounds like a pain in the ass, or reliance on a very patient geometer. More difficult, I imagine, than with a rim where the spoke holes are evenly distributed.

As other people have stated, the Campagnolo G3 lacing is designed to deal with the different tensions that the drive side and the nondriveside of a road wheel encounter. Putting driveside forces on the nondriveside of G3/triplet lacing (as you would presumably do at some point with a "flip flop" hub laced thusly) would be... not ideal, and potentially bad.
