Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

This has worked great in my experience.

If you can still touch both feet to the ground on the saddle.. then i guarantee its not high enough

Bikes: yes

This year, one of my teammates sent an email to the team saying, "I just got a proper bike fit and they told me that my saddle was 2.5 inches too low!" A few weeks later, at a local race series, he showed me the two pieces of tape on his seatpost - one as a marker for where the post is, and one to mark where it was. Two and a half inches! That's a lot. He went on to reclaim and then win the sprinter's jersey for the series, with much team support. But that's probably not because of the saddle change. It's just part of the story.
