Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Hell yeah! That's the way to do it! A couple months ago I took an old steel Huffy 12 speed, kept the original chain ring ( I think it's a 53) and replaced the 26" wheels with a new 700c 16 tooth fixed gear wheelset. She rides like a frigin' dream, even for an old Huffy!!! Good Job on the build and post some pics asap!

Bikes: A fixed gear, a vintage roadie and a POS.

Now get out there and skid and we'll see you in a week or two when you post about your sore knees.

Can't skid the beast yet, need to build up some pistons. Getting a front brake installed in the meantime.
