Mercier Kilo Frame sizing help
so my standover is 28" but on the 47cm frame for the Kilo, it says the standover is 29". i cant find a LBS in san francisco that carries these bikes. my last bike i rode was a 50cm frame but i barely cleared it. i wonder if i should go for the 44cm frame? any thoughts? thanks and specs can be seen here
and my inseam measurement is 46.

From: Brooklyn finally.
Bikes: Bianchi San Jose, fixed
of course the 44 will have a sloping top tube since BD decided against using 650's.
It would be impossible for it not to.
different size bikes have different geometries to keep the ride quality similar across all the sizes
Tiny bikes will have "slacker" angles, while the giant sizes will have "steeper" angles. There's nothying "wacky" about it. It's how bikes work and have always been made.

Your standover is 28" with shoes or without? Put some shoes on and buy the 47cm. But there's really nothing wrong with a slopping top tube. Most of Giant's bikes, including the bowery track bike has what they call the compact road design, meaning they use longer seatpost to make up for the smaller frame. Give's the bike a stiffer feel. Not sure if the smaller kilos have that in common.
If my inseam was 28" i'd still go with the 47cm and use a top tube pad.
