Masi fixed. Steel or aluminum?

Hey All,

I have an opportunity to pick up a friends Masi fixed gear bike. I'm not sure which model it is but it does look nice (of the crummy pics I've seen of it). Are Masi's steel or aluminum or both?

Thanks

masi makes both. chances are that it's steel if the tubing is round. If its a teardrop shape, more than likely its aluminum

https://www.masibikes.com/tab4_subNav2.php are the steel bikes there

If it's the Special fixed, it's going to be steel. Nice bike, but typically have a lot of saddle to bar drop because of the longer top tube

most likely steel. there is the coltello which is aluminum, but the rest of their fixed gear bikes are steel

Bikes: 2008 Masi Speciale Fixed

Steel, assuming it's the Speciale Fixed. Very nice bike, I recommend it highly.

What does a longer top tube have to do with it? Saddle to bar drop is strictly a vertical measurement.

Because I'm of the opinion that you should buy a bike based on top tube measurement, not seat tube length. If you're buying a bike with a long top tube, typically to get one that fits you'd buy a "smaller" frame size and have the seat up higher to get proper leg extension. Hence, more saddle to bar drop
