Thank god I'm not the only one. My girlfriend looks at me like I'm crazy when I go off on a tangent about this. If I "gauged" my ears that would mean I measured them... I stretched them, the term is stretch. "Nice gauges"... that doesn't even make any f'n sense!

The annoying breed of hipsters is the hyper critical mouthy reckless bunch whom only have bikes, which they've unskillfully butchered classics to turn into fixed gear beaters, as a fashion accessory, which they walk most of the time from their level of fitness/nutrition/clothing not allowing them to ride, whom seem to be oblivious or ambivalent to the rules of the road or common decency. Typically there is one of these incredibly annoying hipsters for every ten hipsters, which while following a fad closely, are genuinely mellow and not out to piss people off.
I usually think the the annoying ones, which sear the negative stereotype into our collective thoughts, eventually wind up getting themselves hurt or confronted one way or another and give up cycling entirely.

but really, they're not all dicks, as for gauges it really doesn't bother me what people call it, I truly don't give a flying ****, all I can say is I've had them before having them was popular, lately I have let them close up a bit, no particular reason, just stopped putting them in, lazy in my older years I guess.

today i was waiting at an intersection on my fixed bike for the light to change, i have a helmet on, and clipless pedals with my cleated shoes. i take out my phone for a quick text and out of the corner of my eye i see 4 hipsters, they ride by yelling to me to "get some gears" assuming im like a wanna-be road cyclist. and ride away laughing, i brush it off and mind my own buiseness; dont wanna start any trouble. , are all hipsters asses? or just them. im sure there are other fixed riders who who have clipless pedals and wear a helmet.
Texting while on the bike is just plain wrong. Cell phone is strictly so somebody can call an ambulance when they find you lying in the road/ditch/wherever. Texting while on the bike is SO poseurific, you might as well have been at Starbucks with your laptop.

Hey cmon guys everyone sees me as a hipster but I don't really see myself as one. I may look like one just because I think its what I'm comfortable with you know? But anyways we're not all dicks. As a matter of fact the group of guys I ride with at school and at home are all super down to earth. A few of them even ride road bikes.

well noone would need to call an ambulance because i was texting at a stop light stadiling my bike uncliped with 2 feet on the ground, dont see how i could get hurt and need an ambulance for that

Im not a member of a visible minority
I am a male in my 20's
I go to the local Critical Mass' and play polo with much of the same guys
I race road bikes and participate a lot in doing what i can to better my team
I am a dick.
Its not a 'hipster' thing... Can it also be a 'roadie', or the fact that im not a member of a visible minority thing?
How about maybe its the fact that im canadian
Or that i like heineken now and then on my patio at 7:09. not 7:08 or 7:10 though.

Maybe im a fat-ass that doesnt rides bikes at all and just lurks internet forums daily.
