Cages and Straps

Yesterday i bought cages and straps for my fixed gear (after riding only on platforms for the last year).

I have (Demolition BMX) pedals on my bike and the cages wont fit on, so i just have the straps on the pedals at the moment. But i find it hard to attatch my second foot once i get going as they strap isnt held open for my foot by the cage not being attatched.

Any advice to get the second foot strapped in easier (ive made it work, but it takes a while).
I ideally dont want to change pedals to make cages work, but shoot any ideas out that you got.
Every bit of help is appreciated.

Hmm, that looks kinda' tough with the pedal spikes and all. I feel confident that a few plates could be fabricated to allow the toes clips to be bolted on but I'm not sure that's worth it as you'll still have to contend with the grip pins.
