Gridloc Frame
Just ordered a Felt Gridloc frame. Any suggestions for parts?
I need a bottom bracket, stem, seatpost, crankset, handlebars, and pedals.
Basically everything but a wheelset. Trying to keep it cheap too.

I am building up a Rush right now--- and have found that ebay aint what it used to be. It has been overrun by pro stores--- and anything used and usable is over-priced. I have found better bargains on regular net stores--- like speedgoat and treefort bike.
1. Build your own wheels.
2. Drivetrain-- You want it "cheap?" Try a road 130 bcd crankset--- and Speedgoat is cheaper than ebay with their free shipping. Or if you want it CHEAPO-- try some really low-end ebay gear. You can buy a new Sugino drivetrain and BB for just a bit over $100 delivered.
3. Again, you have a new frame... might as well not grunge it out with used stems and posts--- just scour the net. That is half the fun in building up a new bike.
You are smart to build up a frameset--- rather than buy a "cheap" built bike. My only question to you--- what sort of headset does the Felt have? The bottom of the line Cane Creek leave a bit to be desired.

I scored a killer deal on a S6 headset for this build--- like $40 delivered (for a 'rare' 1" model)-- and some DT Revolution spokes at less than $1 /spoke delivered.... and a great stem for almost nothing. Chains and pedals are still OK--- but I really struggled with the drive train and seat post this round. I have built three bikes previously from all ebay parts. But seriously--- look at the percentage of professional sellers these days. My guess is that if you do a search of track or fixed gear, AT LEAST 80% of parts will be sold by pros. I wish ebay had a search filter to remove sellers by number of feedbacks--- so you could choose sellers with fewer than 200, for example (amateurs). These same pros are not selling at any sort of real discount.

that axle nut tool attached to the water bottle braze-ons is such a great idea. if only it were more practical in a city situation without having to remove it every time in fear of my wheels getting stolen using my own tool that was attached to the same bike...

I would suggest going to Bikeisland.com and/or Ben's Cycle. They'll have everything you need. Bike Island is reasonably priced and offers free shipping. I've ordered two wheelsets, a frame, two cranksets, seatpost, etc...... and they ship quickly. Last thing I ordered was an Omnium crank that was 165 shipped with BB. Everyone else wants $200 or more.
Good Luck!
