Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? i LOVE that second one. I remember seeing it at Mellow Johnny's one day and completely falling in love w/ it. Since then, I have seen it around quite a bit and it has become a tad ordinary, but I just love the look of the raw frame. I say go w/ the second one, especially for that price. I would change out the tires and headset spacers so it isn't quite as matchy matchy, though...

The quintessential expression of an impulse buy... I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I guess it is akin to two pair of shoes that look the same but different colors?

Wouldn't it make more sense to spend your savings on a more aggressive track bike, or maybe a decent carbon geared bike, or a skull-crushing 29er or something? I don't know why you'd need to have two new classy steel road bikes with similar geometry unless you've already got all the other potential needs filled.

Keep riding your fashion accesory of a bike, fruit. Maybe, just maybe you should look it up and see that i'm telling the truth or continue being a sarcastic little mouthy *****.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I own a few pairs of Tigers in different colors, but that's only because I also already own a couple pairs of dress/business shoes, a decent pair of boots, nice running shoes, etc...

I don't think it'd be as smart to just buy three pairs of tiger's and then have nothing to wear to to a job interview... know what I'm sayin'?

Obviously it's your money, just my two cents.

Hey TS sorry to **** all over your thread, but it feels so good to skool a 14 year old! Ungh!

Why does this need to be an impluse buy? chill a bit, think about it and be sure. You really don't want to buy something then regret it.

Nice, can you cite any more references from builders of lugged frames stating that lugged frames are the best? You haven't posted any rivendell links yet!

Fashion accessory!

Fruit!

You're really angry about this, aren't you?

Which of my bikes is the fashion accessory?

Congratulations on designing ****. Maybe you should set your sights higher.

Well dude consider it a lesson in frame design, know you know lugs aren't just a fashion accessory. It would be nice if you stopped spreading that misinformation, and mocking "newbs" for liking because "it's lugged, that's why". yeah every custom frame builder uses lugs cause they look pretty... seriously? you seriously believe that? oh man, lol

ah Jim-bob, epic fail of a come back. the "out of context quote", not very effective in an argument. you do realize you're trying to mock me, for the same thing I'm mocking you for, and in reality mocking your own stance? oh you don't do you?

Okay, peace out I'm walking away. this isn't fair to you, you're over your head. sorry man

Remember Lugged frames stronger than welded frames (not butted, see you taught me something too).

I don't know, guys, this bike is a pimp-mobile. I looks like it was produced on a new TV show called "pimp my bike". If I get it, I'm going to have to get some fake gold jewelry and some pimp cycle gear. I'll look into that and report back. If youse guys see some, post up for me, willya?

I am sure the Torelli rides a lot better than the Masi, stick with that.

The Masi is really funny though, I can't believe it is so heavy....and that so many people like it. I guess it is like the Emporer's new clothes...

Yeah, it does ride nicely...smooth as silk. I was serious about the Masi but it has been waning. I still like it though. It has that 'look'. Oh, well... Like one of the other posters said, I can probably do better with a real track bike, but damnit, that Masi looks good!

Is it a fake? I was told it was a Masi with a Taiwan built frame. Well, in that case, the Torelli is a fake too. Bill designed it but the frame is made in Taiwan too. Jeez... They are still a Masi and Torelli cuz they have their name on it. Heck, the carbon bike frames are built in China for the majors. They design them and farm the manufacturing out. I dunno...

It's not fake in of that Haro legally acquired the rights to the name. But these Haro made Masis' have nothing in common with the masterpieces created in Italy and California save the name.

Ah! Ok, I didn't know that, thanks. At least the Torelli was designed by Bill of Torelli. Jeez, I had no idea that Haro owned Masi. Not sure how I feel about that. This is getting complicated.

why the **** would you let a forum decide how you're going to spend your money....? why don't you get something that you like and let the aesthetic nazis do their own damn thing? i am blown away at your ability to be persueded by someone else's irrelevant opinion.... but then again, that's just my opinion

have fun on whatever you end up with.
