Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Does your girl ride fixed?

Mine rides an old Schwinn cruiser I brought back to life and is actually pretty turned off by the whole "fixie lifestyle"

There's a few diamonds but honestly most of the females I see riding fixed are a little rough around the edges.

I do not own a girl at the moment, but I am looking to purchase one in the near future. Sweet fixie riding would be a welcome option but certainly not a dealbreaker.

my girl don't ride at all, I know I should dump her.

Most girls I've seen ride fixed are heavy on the granola

My wife occasionally rides fixed but prefers her multi-speed. She can also skate vert like a mother****er.

Bikes: See my sig...

I don't care what she rides... but love the fact she does and she has even been toying with the idea of riding a fixed gear.

And when she makes up her mind I will build her the sweetest fixed gear ever.

My girl rides a bike and acts impressed whenever I tell her how fast I got to one place from another place through traffic. That's good enough for me to be honest

I rebuilt an older (but good quality) hybrid for mine's birthday so at least we can ride...

I guess if I had built her a fixie, she might be riding a fixie

The Girl noticed me because of my fixed gear... it got us talking about bikes (a shared passion) and she discovered I really was a pretty utilitarian guy with a thing for going fast and hard.

Bikes: too many

my girl commutes by bike fairly often on a hybrid. she never shifts though, I can't tell if she doesn't understand it or can't feel a difference. I'll probably build up a singlespeed for her with spare parts at some point in time, dunno yet.

My girl doesn't ride, she's not ridden a bike since being a kid so she's not really into it - I'm slowly trying to get her into it but have no newb-friendly bike for her to try out.

My girl would die on a fixed gear. Hell, I'm sketchy about getting her that pink cruiser she wants.
