Possible to strip decals off the Langster?
http://yamashige.blog.ocn.ne.jp/phot...200761_039.jpg
I'm planning on getting one of these bad boys in about a week from the LBS but I was wondering if it's a practical frame to mod. I don't want the d-bag stigma of getting this bike that has all these tacky decals on it. I can live with the specialized logo but specifically I want to get rid of that eagle and other decal. Any ideas? Cheers |
no. you can repaint it.
|
We had this same thread last week.
ya dood those things peel off like wet-tape. |
on my langster they were under the clear coat
|
They make one without the city theme.
Just plain ol' Langster. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3303/...0ffa28875a.jpg |
why do so many people care about the decals? how many threads are going to have about this useless topic?
|
The plain langster isn't pretending to be:
-A track bike -Coffee shop bike with faux fenders |
Gonna go with a powder coating service since its fairly cheap. Not sure what color I want to do now! Probably Satin Black (ideas?) since the bike comes equipped for the white/black color scheme anyways.

My advice : 1. If you like the feel of the bike, buy it. 2. Don't paint it. 3. Ride it into the ground. |
this dude took his decals off i think. the plain one looks good.

I don't get it. There are hundreds of bikes to choose from yet these threads pop up. How many times has that question been asked about a BD bike? A Langster without any decals is somehow cooler?
|
haha. that post just went away.
|
I deleted it because I felt that this thread is too stupid to reply to and now here I am again.

I think you can love a bike and hate the decals. So yeah, try to get it.

You might want to strip off the slanting top tube as well.

I would just use Black Vinyl to Cover it up If you are gonna spend the cash to powder coat Just buy a different Bike. I think you can get the Leader with no decal
|
thats my black langster above... you can take the decals off the 2010 but not the 2009.
