Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

you must work to learn to spin. most just ride a higher gear and mash because it is the easiest way to get power down. the best learn to spin and have the strength to do so at a high gear.

52x14.

If it's good enough for Eddy, it's good enough for you.

68:11 gearing (162 GI) and seat-less to boot.

Merkx's bike was running 100 gear inches for the seated hour record.
