help picking my bike.please

due to a reevaluation of the budget, I shouldn't spend the extra cash that we have on a bike. So that means I am heavily leaning towards the Kilo stripper. I like the white one but bikesdirect says not to expect a restock until late winter. Maybe i'll just get black magic?
side question: how did you like living in Portland? I live in SLC now and I was thinking about moving there after I finish college. I got to check out the city for a few hours over the summer and it seemed pretty nice, a lot more crowded compared to SLC though but not necessarily in a bad way.

Go with the sexy black magic! I bought the white stripper 2 days before they shipped, and the day I got it I saw they added Black Magic and I was a little pissed because it's so damn awesome looking! The white's good too, but I wouldn't hold out for it. My only notes for getting the stripper- grease everything once you get it (of course of course), you may want to replace the pedals (they were a little small for me) and the tires (pretty cheap/plasticy, I got a flat in the first two weeks). These are the only two things you really need to replace, everything else is good to go on it.

to answer your portland question, I lived in vancouver,wa, which is right across the river. Portland i like a lot more than vancouver. People can be unusually friendly and that is something i'm slowly losing touch of being away. Everytime I go back there is the part of me just wants to stay and not just because some of my best friends are still there but it's the vibe of the small town feeling with big city tendencies.
definitely check it out again if you can.
