Fixed gear on a 1up trainer?

I'm thinking about getting a trainer from 1up for use with my IRO Mark V bike, and I'm interested in hearing from you guys if you've used a trainer with a fixed gear in the past. How did you like it?

FWIW, my bike has a 46t chainring & 18t cog, and the guys from 1up suggested that I might not get good resistance with that setup, and that I should switch to an 11-tooth cog for use with their trainer. Any thoughts about that? Will the 18t cog leave me spinning the whole time with little resistance at all?

thanks,

Jacob

How were you planning to get the skewer through?

1up said my existing nut/skewer would work with their trainer.
