Stem size

I'm thinking about replacing the stem that came with my Soma with a nitto stem. They come in two sizes for handle bars 25.4 or 30.1. I'm pretty sure that the nitto bullhorns I have are 26.0 and the stem that I has is 26.0. Will the 25.4 size stem be too small? Will the 30 be too large. Also, it says that the stem fits a 1.125" steerer, mine is 1". Will this cause a problem?

yes.

Will the 30 be too large.
yes, but you might be able to get a shim at your lbs

yes. it's obviously too big. again, you'll need to get a shim.

Are you trying to go from a 1" quilled stem to a 1.125" threadless???

No, it's a threadless fork. I just want a better threadless stem. I can use a shim for the 1.125" threadless nitto stem, but I guess I'll have to buy a pair of 25.4 bullhorns to replace my 26's. Why can't nitto make everything the same damn size!
