Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? KHS Solo-one

I may be picking up a 2005 KHS solo-one in the next few days, and i was wondering what people thought about this model, as it is going to be my first singlespeed. Also, whats up with the soft tail? How much is that going to affect efficiency and handling? My apologies if this is the wrong forum, i couldn't decide if it would go here or in Mountain Biking. Muchos gracias.

If your aim is to ride as a single speed MTB, post over there. If you're going to put slicks on it and commute, I'd say you may get some answers here.
