Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

tricycle

so I was looking at some google images of tricycles making fun suggestions to a friend who can't ride a bike for lack of balance due to poor hearing. I came across some amazing ones:

1884 Plectocycle Front-Steering Tricycle

I am interested in these beasts of cycles, but don't know much about them other than there is a company that is remaking them for $2099

You might repost this to the C&V forum. Although those bikes are SS (or FG), they are vintage above all else.

Don't make fun of people with inner-ear issues.

I think your friend would probably be happier with a modern bike if he really wants to ride; probably something in the recumbent category would be best I guess.

But the site that's linked in the OP is awesome. I don't really want of these bikes, but I love it that there are people making them.
