Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

FWIW, chickie would probably make more parting the bike out. Still nowhere near what she want to get for it, but more than she would selling the bike as a whole.

Note to builders: you will never get out of your bike what you put into it if you're paying retail or even shop "sale" prices.

People don't seem to get that if you buy a complete bike and add new wheels and cranks, your bike isn't now worth the bike + the new parts, it's worth the bike - all the old parts you paid for in the initial price, THEN you add the new parts. Then you subtract a bunch for the fact that it's used.

I sure hope so. Although closer inspection reveals these are 700 CC wheels. Since they're motorized, maybe that's not so ridiculous.
