Most of the time when I ride the fixie, I don't bring any tools with me cos if something happens, it's just as cool if not cooler to walk the fixie home.

Every mechanical problem I've ever had on the road was either fixable with what I had with me, or was completely unfixable regardless of what tools I was carrying.

Thats a lot of stuff. I usually carry a small 15mm wrench, a very very tiny multi-tool, patch kit, 1 tire lever, co2 and a tube. I used to carry more stuff but have gradually whiddled my repair kit down to the bare essentials.

hello
I always carry more flat related stuff on long distance rides, like on a double century. I carry a small chain breaker on long rides as well.

I recently moved and I have a much beefier chain I use now. I'm afraid even that is not going to be enough to keep my bike safe on the streets of DC or B-more [high bike theft area] so I rarely leave my bike unattended if it's out of my sight.

I know the OP found what he was looking for, but I'm throwing my .02 in anyway. I carry, in my saddle bag, 2 CO2 cartridges and the inflator nozzle, the contents of a patch kit (without the bulky plastic box), three allen wrenches (one for my seat post collar, one for the cleats on my shoes, the other for everything else including my wheels) the little charger and a AA battery for charging my Blackburn Flea headlight, a knife, and finally (and very important) a few bucks. Never know when I'm going to bonk and need some emergency sustenance, and I don't always have a wallet with me. I used to have nutted axels, which required a 15 wrench, which required that I get more creative in finding ways to carry that, because I refused to pay more for a shorter wrench. Under my saddle I carry a spare tube. On me (in my bag or in a holster) I carry my u-lock. When I lock up I bring my allen wrenches with me. No sense in leaving the tools to steal my stuff, with the stuff. Just as bad as leaving the keys in the ignition.

But just for the fact of carrying it; why not? It'll look pretty sweet with a kryptonite lock next to it.....

Yes I know this is somewhat overkill but I had just gotten this bag and was seeing what all I could fit in it, this would be my "long ride" kit. Pretty impressed with the bag, "Topeak Aero Wedge Medium w/ Fixer", hopefully the clip doesn't break on me like they're supposedly prone to. If that happens on a ride I'll just hang it from my top tube with the velcro loop. Oh, my patch kit also contains a presta adapter in it, good to have in the extreme case of wanting to use a gas station pump.

well like I said, overkill. The headlight takes 3, the rear, 2. I like to leave my pbsf in constant-on mode sometimes which eats the juice. If I carried 3 I'd have spares to replace either front or rear goin dead, if I carried 5 it'd be enough to replace both. 7 is barely any heavier and happens to be all my spares so I just threw them in for that pic.
