Really I would say no, the bike is a nice vintage, might as well restore this one and convert some other random forgoten about bike to SS/FG..

Well it is aluminium so it would not rust without some kind of paint or sealent. Is that chrome? If not then its aluminium, I don't think aluminium can be chromed...O! I just had a though...use a magnet! if it doesn't stick then its aluminium
