You're so edgy because you're judgemental and better than us. You see I know that because of the emoticon banging his head in frustration, unfortunately you failed to give a valid reason as to what exactly was said that just couldn't be serious in your almighty opinion. Was it the sarcastic remarks about aesthetics being more important than comfort? If so, then had you read that I ride ergo road drops with hoods as opposed to the slightly more aesthetic track drops. Anyways, nothing bugs me more than when people pretend that by making some statement like "wow, seriously" or "are the last few replies in this thread serious?:bang: " that people will automatically assume they are cooler or know more on a subject. When really they make no arguement whatsoever and just make empty statements in an attempt to put down other people. I can tell your one of these people, not only for the fact that you made such a statement, but because of your edgy upside down cross and (((NIHIL))) tagline, go listen to some ceremony and pretend that you hate the world some more.

whoa there guy, talk about judgemental... you just attempted to determine my entire lifestyle by 6 undescriptive words and an emoticon.

i only asked as it's hard to tell how absurd this place is getting in sincerity. you two could've been the new-wave of dumbass fashion-rider or just so condescending that your jokes are only sarcasm about 'inferior taste'.

hairnet 02-04-10 01:54 PM

I was sincere and sarcastic at the same time.

Scalawag 02-04-10 02:55 PM

Oh, so you were ironically sarcastic.

hairnet 02-04-10 02:57 PM

in the best sense of being a hipster

mattxxx 02-04-10 02:58 PM

yeah i ride road drops with hoods right now that are on the shallow side for road bars, i just thought the eighth inch bars looked pretty interesting...

and ceremony rules

mrvile 02-04-10 03:15 PM

I'm serious about approaching the aesthetics of my bike sarcastically. That is, because I kind of am a hipster. But only in the most sincere sense of the word. Don't hurt yourself trying to understand what I just said.

Anyway I used to have track grips on my eighthinch bars coz street cred but I ended up cutting them off when I switched from a quill stem to threadless, and went back to bartape (I like bartape). Fully taped shallow track drops is the most confusing brainfart I've encountered with my bike thus far. Oh well. I like bartape.

mattxxx 02-04-10 03:28 PM

im planning on wrapping mine all the way up. -1 hip points

WoundedKnee 02-04-10 04:47 PM

Haha..

2 Attachment(s)
with long stem (that 3ttt stem was the only one I had that would fit, the clamp diameter is a bit big):

kato7997 02-06-10 07:55 PM

that's actually the "clean" side...you don't want to see the other side...

Scrodzilla 02-06-10 07:59 PM

I was just kiddin'!

Let me know if you plan on selling those Major Taylors.

WoundedKnee 02-06-10 08:35 PM

the eighth inch drops are TINY. I got pair and ended up giving them to my sister. Major Taylors FTW and worth the extra few bucks.

Maybe he's having a vision quest?

kato7997 02-07-10 06:01 PM

I think they would be perfect if the straight (end) section was longer...then it would be somewhere inbetween a northroad bar and drop bar...

They do look pretty cool. I wanted to try them out but because of back problems, I can't really handle much drop.
These VO Porteur bars are as close to "drop" as I get:

Dude! My green Brooks Pro would look sick on that bike!

Scrodzilla 02-07-10 09:23 PM

I do like my black Brooks but I definitely agree.

ummm... didn't you just say earlier in this thread that those porteur bars were as much drop as you can handle? you might want to reconsider purchasing major taylors...

Scrodzilla 02-08-10 06:41 AM

Ha...definitely not for me. I've got a friend who wants some.

kato7997 02-11-10 08:21 PM

I've had a chance to ride on the eighthinch bars for a bit now. I get 3 hand positions out of them. Riding on such a shallow drop is surprisingly comfy!
