that toshi's are an effin ***** to put on MKS sylvans! Probably the most frustrating thing I've put on my bike, but I can't wait til they're on.

I had no trouble getting my Wabi / Exustar doubles on my MKS Sylvan touring pedals. I guess you have the track-style cages?

Dude they are certainly a *****. Make life easy on yourself and break out the file.

What I do, and it works super fast and very effectively, is take a sharp drill bit just smaller than the hole in the pedal and walk it around a bit with your drill. It wallows it out just enough to get the strap through and also keeps it from looking all ****ty.

Use needle nose pliers too, but don't ruin your straps. Take your time, make sure they're straight before you pull them on through.

I ended up just putting some petroleum jelly down the sides and pulled them through with a needle nose. Still a pain but it worked. Just rode in them for the first time. What a difference! If I ever change pedals I'm breaking out the drill next time...

to get my all city doubles onto my sylvans, i cut about an inch long strip at an angle off the end of the straps to make that part go in which gave me the leverage to pull the rest through. kinda ghetto i guess but whatevs. i probably wouldn't do that to a pair of toshis, however.

I did that ^ to get my Toshis into my Custom Nuevo pedals. Then I trimmed off a great deal of the extra 6 inches of strap and put a couple sets of buttons on the ends. Looked just fine.

crimp the tips into a "V" with channel lock pliers (the big kind if you have them)

once you have them crimped, feed the tip through one side enough for the channel locks to get ahold of it.

use the channel locks as a fulcrum but rolling them upwards getting leverage against the pedal.

once you get them through about an inch you can grab a bunch of strap and pull hard.

Takes about 2 minutes. Don't be afraid of hurting the toshis, those things are like steel cables.
